I have been struggling with an drive ability issue for a period of time with my L.S. powered GTR. My engine builder and I have chased this and nothing made sense, in the end it was complicated by the fact that there was more then one problem. Several efforts ago I bought an installed a new set of Bosch injectors acquired from a reputable company. The cost packaging and appearance of these injectors led us to believe that the injectors where genuine Bosch. With the new headers installed and the last round of tuning efforts we thought we had it. That would be a great big NO. We then decided to send the injectors out for calibration to R.C. Engineering in Long Beach Cal. the word back was the injectors where made in China crap. the problem was not constant and it only effected very small flow rates. Moderate to full flow was not effected. You can see how this would be very hard to track down. New injectors problem solved. MY POINT: I wasn't looking for a bargain when I bought these. Buying from a good company is a start making sure that your injectors are bench tested might be very cheap insurance in the long run. Lee
Yes I am having a very pointed discussion with the supplier.

I had a somewhat similar experience with a Sparco race set, it had all the correct markings FIA labels etc., but turned out to be a Chinese knock off. Fortunately I only intended to use it for a simulator I was building, but it's scary to think it (and others like it) may have ended up in a race car and would probably have passed tech inspection, with someone's life dependent on it.

Scary indeed eek, specially if you are purchasing your goods through a reputable supplier!

Chinese sh*t is everywhere, I bought a TiAL waste-gate for my project and it turns out to be knock off
(the serial number gave it away), the guy I use for mechanic-ing when I'm busy says he sees loads of this imported Sh*te turning up in his workshop, apparently there's a "nice" line of "Aeromotive" fuel regulators doing the rounds at the moment.
Rather you than me eh?

Thanks Lee!

I’ve been struggling for the last two weeks to get my EFI Can Am up and running. The motor did not like to start without a little ether infusion. The motor was dyno tuned and broken in, but that was two years ago!! Since then it has sat in my garage waiting to be used and abused. I'm now thinking the injectors are toast and need cleaning due to the long idle time.
Anyway, thanks for the R.C. Engineering suggestion, as that is where they are headed.
See you in San Jose at the next Ultima gathering
