So first time out in damp conditions and my solution to stop the headlights fogging up failed - later inspection showed water ingress via rear cover - fortunately the plastic front covers are screwed with neoprene rubber providing the seal so easily cleaned. Neoprene on the rear covers needed me thinks.
Big thanks to Alex for some great pics clap

Great photos and nice touches to the car - looking forward to mine this Saturday, weather permitting!

Did you take cleaning materials with you?

On the front lights you will find the moisture is coming in from the rear. A job that is on my list but sadly won't get done in time for my photos. I am going to start a thread now on the headlamp alignment rather than post on this one.

Just blue roll and yes water thrown up by the wheels onto the rear covers both sides - did clean them out but the damp caused them to fog up very quickly

Have you used the expanding foam seal on the headlight rear covers?

This will stop the dirt ingress but not the moisture in my experience. I have used the expanding foam and there is still lots of moisture in the light units. I plan to use some bitumen flashing tape but need to clean it all out first.

Would a little extractor fan on each pod help?

I'd expect so, a hairdryer is the quickest way to reverse the steaming up, so if it acts in the same way then that'd probably work!

I don't have a pic of the first stage so will just describe the I have drilled 3 holes (5mm) Through from the back of the clip through to the headlight housing. These come through right at the top of the housing and are hidden behind the glue line of the clear perspex cover. The same is done to the bottom of the housing.

In this picture you can see an ali cover bonded over the lower set of holes being outside the the area covered by the rear headlight cover. On the cover itself you can see another ali cover bonded to cover the fan outlet.

This is the fan bonded inside the rear cover. The fan is fitted with a coffee filter.

The fan pressurizes the rear cover pushing the air through the top set of holes. The air then comes out of the bottom set of holes.

Hope that helps.

I found this on the Koenigsegg site and a neat solution to headlight venting. Can it be incorporated in an Ultima? Need to get the thinking cap on. Or perhaps Steve's solution is simpler.

A new subject as this is different to this topic.

The Koenigsegg #Regera has a little ventilation system to keep the headlamp housing cool clear. The fan at the bottom pushes air up the housing, evacuating it through the vent at the top.
