Hey guys, know of a good place to purchase unfinished ultima's? I'm specifically just looking for a chassis.
thanks
Hi Alishawkat,thanks
Looking at your profile you have 2 posts since joining PH and both have been on the Ultima forum. As a starter, perhaps a few words regarding yourself and an answer to why would you be looking for a chassis? Best bet for that would be the Factory, but we certainly would like to know if you are considering building an Ultima or wanting the chassis for something different.

I'm in Canada and importing it isn't as easy. I need to get the chassis and suspension at separate times. Also I do have a front clam that I'm interested in. So I was thinking if anyone had a chassis or even an incomplete Ultima why not save money since I'll be getting everything separate.Looking at your profile you have 2 posts since joining PH and both have been on the Ultima forum. It's kinda lame but here are the rules
From https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/tp-tp2...
Is a starter kit a car or parts? Shipment contents provide useful clues, and each import is considered on its own merits. TC may ask for a complete parts list (not including attachment hardware).
In a parts shipment/starter kit, important systems such as the fuel system, the brake system, the power train and the suspension system are not included.
When these systems are completely absent, the kit will likely pass Customs if:
the kit is not assembled (the body and frame are separate);
the wiring harness, steering system and interior parts are not installed (with the possible exception of the windshield, some trim and the instrument panel).

Yeah, Canadian kit car rules suck, that said all bets are off once any car reaches 15 years old, so if you could find a 2001 or older Ultima you could import it. There are Ultima's in Canada so might be worth contacting owners to see how they did it and the pitfalls or loopholes.
Fran Hall at Race Car Replicas in Detroit seems pretty adept at getting his SLC and GT40 replicas into Canada, he's an expat Brit, all round top guy and very helpful.
Julian (another expat Brit)

Wow, that's pretty crap! I thought Switzerland was bad, though you can import and road register kit cars but in a very Swiss way it just costs A LOT of money.
Out interest I googled kit cars in Canada and found this which may help as they look to have an Ultima esk product.

Would be worth talking to the Factory as they may well have done this before.
May also be worth a PM to GTRCLIVE who lives in Canada. See his thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
