Pondering a front splitter. Like the idea of a 'sacrificial' plywood one rather than carbon. So what type of ply (marine ?) and what thickness (9mm, 12mm ??)

If anyone could make a quick measurement then would be much appreciated.

Also any advice / experience on fixings

Thanks

I used the marine ply (12mm) which trailer manufacturers use with a resin sealed side. It makes painting it easier.

Paul

PS. Mine is fixed to the chassis so maybe the thinner variant would be better it you are attaching it to the front clip.

9mm on factory cats mounted to front clip, 12mm on SS cars mounted to chassis..

12mm on factory car will reduce ground cleanace and always be grounding out

Best material is the special plywood used on Indespension trailers. I think that's the type Paul means. Dark brown in coulur and nonslip on one side.

Marine plywood 10mm . Herdened with a coat of resin. Kevlar reinforced underside. Perfect.

Thanks folks..... 9 mm marine ply it is.

Any suggestions on mounting.... Factory approach seems to be to bond ally brackets to the clip then screw to them, with 2 supports up to the clip frame where the stay mounts.... Any pictures or suggestions welcome. Checked cj's site and he did it a bit different so any pics would be good.

Thanks again

my alloy brackets are not bonded, just sandwich to bottom of clip and stabliser bars each side bolted on

You could always raise the front ride height by 3mm wink
