It has been a while(many years) since I did anything other than look at my Ultima chassis. All that time I'd peek about here, dreaming, wishing for a lotto win and sometimes forgetting I had parts of an Ultima already. When I bought the first few parts, I had started a small business selling car parts, with the plan to use the profits to build the car. All was going well until the economy went down the toilet....
Fast forward a few years and the car is still hiding at the back of my parents shed. I have been renting for years, never with a garage unfortunately, so spanner time on the Ultima was minimal. Cash flow was worse. However, finally I am about to move into a house we own, well the bank does. I hope to build a garage and get cracking again, as funds allow.

My dilemma is that the chassis has started to look the worst for wear, sitting for years in a damp shed wasn't the best place for it I know. I don't have a lot done so far, alloy panels, wishbones, pedals and thats about it.
I am wondering if I should sell what I have and just save up and buy a used one or soldier on?

Personally I would sell it all.

The current chassis has some desirable modifications and as Ultima's are not cheap to build you want it as good as possible as it is the foundation of the car. It is also one of the few parts that can rot.

There is bound to be someone out there that will buy the old chassis and use it for something, if not an Ultima build.

Ultima's are not a cheap build especially if you want a well specified car. It is better to have the funds in place or at least a good proportion of them as the total cost will be north of £50K and could be £80k if you go for the best of everything.

My thoughts!

Thanks for your advice Paul. Even though it isn't something I wanted to do, it makes sense. If I continue to build upon it, I'd probably regret it down the line. The hard truth is that it'll realistically be a couple of decades until I can afford to buy all the bits in one hit or a complete car. Ah well.
Anyone want to buy a chassis and some other bits?
