I viewed it today and paid a deposit on it. I love everything about it, the only thing that worrys me is the low Milage , I'm hoping that's because the owners haven't had much time to drive it, rather than it not being used due to issues with the car. That being said I couldn't really fault it, small amount of oil on the engine bay flooring, but not loads and it didn't look fresh, so not too worried about that at this stage . Very happy with my soon to be new car smile

Check Completion Car Insurance for a quote. Then argue it is too expensive. Good cover for me.

Thanks for the kind words everyone . I'm still quite scared about it all, it's gonna be a lot different to the r34 GTR and type r scooby that ive just sold to fund it. It feels like the right thing to do though and I can't wait to start tinkering with it and doing a few track days smile

I thought that Gables was referring to the Dark grey/black LS3 car for sale in Bucks? When he said he bought it, the ad disapeared but now seems to be back up for sale again. What happened or is this not the same car.

Does anyone know more about the car in Bucks?

Hi there. The car in Bucks is my Ult.

Not heard from Gaaables. He was due to put a deposit down on the car so I pulled the ad. But it has not materialised. Not sure why.

So I've put it back up for sale in the meantime.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi guys sorry I need to clear this up. Mike ive emailed you a couple of times with no reply . Sorry I thought you had recieved my messages.

I view this car and totally fell in love with it. It's everything that I wanted in a ultima , and with the low miles it really is like new. It's a beautiful breathtaking car.
So I set apon selling my skyline, which turned out to be a lot easier than I thought, recieved a deposit and agreed full asking price without the car being viewed. So I was there, all the money in place and ready to go.
I filled out all mikes details in the banking app a couple of times, but I bottled it everytime.
It was breaking my heart selling my dream car, I had lots of sleepless nights, although I love the ultima so much, I do with my skyline also. And in the end I just couldn't bare to part with it.
I am still looking at my options to try and buy this car and retain my skyline. But at present I have nothing in place so the car remains for sale. And for anyone else intrested i totally recommend going to view it, and I'm sure you will buy it.
I think if the owner was there to take me out in the car then it would be a whole different story, and if the cars still for sale when mike is back, if he still has time for me, then I would like to be taken out in the car. which in turn might persuade me to part with my skyline.
So mike I'm genuinely really very very very sorry that I haven't sent the deposit as agreed. I love your car and your dad was really nice to meet. If no one else buys the car then please get in touch and hopefully with a test drive it might change things. It's just a lot of money to spend not knowing how the car drives and feels on the road.

Notwithstanding the fact that I would be really (really, really, really) annoyed and pissed off if I was selling a car and a potential buyer said they would pay a deposit then didn't do it.....

I can understand where you are coming from in relation to the test drive thing despite the fact that I bought my Ultima without one. Infact, I have bought over half a dozen cars including Ferrari, Porsche, Astons, Caterhams, Lotuses and general boring stuff without driving them and sometimes without even seeing them. But, that isn't for everyone.

The reasons I have done it is that I didn't think a test drive would add much to my desire to own the car. If you aren't sure, then obviously a test drive is pretty important. Funnily enough I wouldn't buy a Skyline or Nissan GTR without a test drive in it. Not because I would doubt the performance or reliability but more to see if I would be happy or excited with the way it delivered that performance. That's not a dig at Skyline's but more a hint that you should get that sort of detail sorted out and confirmed before messing folk around (sounds harsh perhaps, and no offense intended, but that it what it is)

I bought my car without test driving (was well built had all the right 'bits' on it - if you define a full aluminium blocked SBC 'race engine' frown as 'the right bits') - it then broke down on the way home, and plagued me with a series of maladies...... It also had VERY low mileage.

Not that my experience should reflect on the car in question BUT this was the last time I'd ever buy a car without a test drive.

I fully agree and mike should well be annoyed with me, I am with myself really. I got carried away and I'm genuinely very sorry. But maybe we can still work something out in the future . But completely understand if not. and wish any other potential buyer all the best if they buy the car, it's truely fantastic

Just like it to be noted that I very nearly did buy the car. I filled out all his details and the deposit amount several times. It was only last minute gitters or I would have committed myself and completed the sale. I still might if I can sell a few of my other cars instead. So I haven't completely wasted his time, and there's a lot of people out there that do

I was lucky that Rob was prepared to let me have a drive before I committed. Drove like I was Driving Miss Daisy.

Can't say I would let someone else drive MY Ultima though.

I'd feel completely the same and am with my skyline. It's not that I need to drive it. but I've not even been up the road in it to see what it can do

Gaaables - Pretty sure I've responded to all your previous emails. Think there's a few of mine pending a reply from your side but this thread covers things off so no need. I'm not pissed off at all. It's only a car and there are way more important things in life to get snarled up about. But honesty is the best policy in these situations.

Re test drive - of course I'd have been happy to take you out in the car when back in the UK and if you genuinely hated the ride or something went wrong, I would simply return the deposit. Due diligence when buying a car is sensible and any seller IMO should respect that. We've all been there and buying cars can be a bit stressful - although you really shouldn't be having sleepless nights over it!

All the best,

Mike
