Clutch problem, I think
Discussion
When my engine and transmission is cold, everything is fine. However, when hot and in neutral with foot off the clutch pedal there is a rumbling noise coming from the rear. If the engine revs are increased to 1500rpm the noise disappears, it also disappears when the clutch pedal is depressed. On a classic Mini, of which I have many, this is a symptom of the clutch thrust bearing needing replacement. Is it the same for the G50 clutch or could it be something else?

The thrust bearing theory seems reasonable other than I'd expect it to be noisy hot or cold.Gassing Station | Ultima | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
