I know the question has been asked before but, Has anyone come up with a viable front hood hinge to raise the body up and out when opening so as to not damage splitter?

I've been looking for the same (with the factory splitter installed, the opening is a pathetic pain in the backside), but have so far not found anything available / affordable.

There are one or two folks who have made their own hinges, or there's the SS highly modified front end route, but I've yet to find a bolt on alternative available. If someone has found one, pls let us know!!

I found a solution on another car by using BMW 8 series bonnet hinges which have a desirable double pivot, I them somewhere but Havent held them up to the front clam to see if they would help with the factory front splitter...... Its on my list of things to do!!

Can I ask a basic question.
What are people doing under the front clip that requires more space/access?
Apart from checking the fluid levels there is nothing else to do up front once the car is built.

Steve-- not so much as more access, but to stop the splitter from hitting the ground when you do open it, for me at least.

Cleaning.... maintenance.... allow the front to open without having to be held because the splitter has hit the floor.... I'd like a better, cantilever hinge for front & rear to make life easier when working on the car smile

I made some for my noble (unsurprisingly hinges the same with similar splitter) from carbon so that I could bolt the splitter directly to the bottom of the chassis so it can't come off (my splitter got ripped off of my ultima at over 170mph).

The 'trick' for me was making sure they were joined and thus opened together, I used 2 carbon tubes with solid carbon bar in the middle so that the mechanism was light yet strong and effective... it hinges on 4 printer roller bearings that the carbon bars goes through.

It lifts the clam as its opened then curves it over the 100mm splitter.

pick of the hinge workings

As you can see the splitter is quite large

i want a proper splitter bolted to the chassis not a bit of wood bolted to the front clip then a gap before the floor that wrecks the airflow undernether the car
the problem with front hinge system is front of clip goes downwards to open the clip.
id like a splitter like the race cars bolted to the chassis which i m surprised the new Evo didnt have,

dido what Steve said, not to quell anyone's efforts to improve the car, lord knows I frequent that road. Really, how often do you need to be in there? Get a couple of pieces of wood drive up on them and open the hood. Lee

"then a gap before the floor that wrecks the airflow undernether the car"

Question, I'm questioning, are you saying there should be a panel that goes from the front to the center section (before the drop for the floor) and then I suppose from the rear of the floor to the rear of the car another panel?

I think he mean a splitter that runs underneath the rad panel to the battery tray floor like this:

yes

any gap in the floor creates turbulance.. this upset in air causes changes in airflow.
the whole idea of a splitter is to create downforce at the front to balance the wing at the back and by upsetting all this air underneath at high speed it damages the air flow.
the splitter should join the floor..

I would also like a factory solution to a front splitter that is chassis mounted with front bodywork hinges that would accommodate it. Something that I can bolt or rivet on the car.
