Had another fantastic day at Bedford autodrome yesterday. This was the first outing after a bit of a refresh, new gearbox and fuel system included, and a track day in 30 degree track temps would certainly be a great test.

Passed with flying colours, the new fuel system performed flawlessly, zircotec'd exhaust made a huge difference and the car was as usual, 100% reliable, including the 300 mile round trip to get to the circuit.

We're some interesting cars there, including a very nicely put together Gardner Douglas T70, LS7 and sexy Harrop induction, plus a number of Atom 3.5Rs.

Had a great time playing with one 3.5R in particular, owner drove it really well and was a nice chap too, best track fun I've had in ages. Nice bits of kit those new atoms too, very capable little cars.

Wish there were more Ultimas out on track though, they really are a blast.

Will post some pics when able.

I would come along for a track day and I am sure there would be others too.

Morning Deadscoob,

I see you are running an LS7, how did you get on with the noise test at Bedford - are you running the factory standard 2 silencer re-packable exhaust. My LS7 recently failed noise at Croft circuit, apparently 106.8db against a limit of 105 so I am interested in your set up. I ajm aware the factory do a third silencer.

Thanks in advance.

[quote=deadscoob]Hi Rossins,

No, my exhaust is not a factory one - see below for track set up. It's a bit quiet, but is guaranteed a pass at any uk circuit - breezes the noise test at Bedford.

Those tyres look shagged, was that after Bedford?

They're still legal.

Kumhos v70s, like cup sports, have primary and secondary wear grooves. The primary grooves, which are the legal requirement, are the centre grooves with the wear bars on - still has 2 MM. on. The secondary wear grooves on the outside can wear down to nothing's. Not great in the wet, but still legal.

4 track days on those, will get another out of them before they're illegal.
