Discussion
Hello, I having been thinking of getting an ultima for the last 10 years, I've seen this nice black one on here, does anyone know the car, would like to have a look at it next week, would appreciate it if anyone has any info about it. Also, does any know if there is an Ultima members car club close to me, Worcestershire.
Thanks
Chris

Are you referring to this one?

If so it's 'very cheap' at that price (buyer beware?) - there are a samples of 'sports' up for sale for more.....
The debate will rage on regards SBC vs LSx engines but "you pays your money....."
There's not an ownersclub per se - but nearly everyone with a car is either here on on FB.
Good luck

I've seen that one before. It does seem a reasonable price but It has also has some unique styling touches that are not to some peoples taste. I would suggest to the seller that if they put it back/close to standard and made the cage/seats black again, removed all the silver styling decals/ Badges etc, std grills remove the front brake cooling ducts: it might appeal to a wider audience, so buyers can then put their own stamp on it.
Although from a buyers perspective if they are willing to do that then they could save some money on a bargain.

Come on you slacker - you are uniquely placed to comment on the SBC v LS choice - give some pros & cons for the prospective buyer http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/u...

Thanks for all the replies, can Dave RD who's been out it in tell me what he thinks of the car, is it well built, does it handle well and has it been put together professionally please, is it worth a look. Thanks. What does everyone else think of the spec of the car, is it a good spec. I've had 3 cobras in the past but always liked the look of these Ultimas.
Thanks

So - I will say..... I wouldn't go back to a SBC engined car BUT (and someone feel free to correct me) LSx cars rarely if ever crop up at under £40k. There was a yellow one (black stripes) on here with an LS1/2 that was near late 30's but I may be imagining that, then there was an LS3 for £42 in Bucks only a little while back?Essentially, what I think I'm trying to say is that whilst entry price for an Ultima (GTR or can am) is around the £35k mark, the LS3+ cars start at around £45 - so command a premium.
I went to see this car with a friend who was looking for an ultima. I would say it has been built to an extremely good standard. Only went out for ride at normal built up area road speed so cannot say if it handles well or not.It is in very good condition but there are a few bits that would need sorting out.I think it is well worth going to see for yourself.
