Best to order from the factory. The wheel hub end is 25 spline and the transaxle end is 28 spline, I believe this is bespoke.

My understanding is that they are Ultima specific.

Doing a few jobs on my car today.
Whilst searching for a bit of vibration under braking I ran up the rear wheels on my lift to see if there was any imbalance visible.
One of the things I found was a badly worn outer driveshaft CVJ. Not what I expected or was looking for. Once I got the shaft off I found the inner was also past it's best.
New complete shaft is winging it's way from Ultima.......bugger.

I have found a bit of run out on the other side rear disc (0.6mm) which I will be investigating over the next day or so.

oh dear.. maybe due to lack of grease.

if just cv you could replace just teh cv joints which are about £56 each for the smaller ones

I have a pair for sale. In as new condition (circa less than 2000 miles), open to offers.

On the subject of driveshafts.

Andy, at the Factory, mentioned ensuring that any used shaft is put back on the same side of the car that it came off. It is not the first time I have heard of this. The twisting stress that is put into the shaft reacts badly if the shafts are driven in the opposite direction (shears).
Very important if buying s/h units.

I wanted the car available for last night so purchased a whole shaft from the Factory (ouch). If I had more time then I would have gone for just joints. I suspect the inner joint is a bit more expensive.

yes, factory said they have to stay the same side
my car has a sensor glued on the inner cv joint on the drivers side so there is no way i can mix the shafts anyway, otherwise the SPA speedo woudlnt work
