Hello everyone, I'm Diego, write from northern Italy.
I read a long time this forum, but only recently I bought my GTR, my dream for many years. wobble
The car was another member of this forum, rs_man. Thanks publicly to Tony for your patience and precision had in the negotiations and LeoGasp that helped me a lot in the transaction and transfer to Italy.
The car was built by someone else and would love to know the history of its construction, so if someone recognizes it would be nice to remember those times.
The car is of 2008, born with SBC supercharged engine, in 2009 returned to the factory after a small rear collision. During the repair, it was decided to remove the SBC and mount an LS2. The project then stopped and the car will not circulated more.
I contacted the factory, Richard confirmed the story, especially on the goodness of the chassis, that was the part that interested me, and I bought the car.
Now I've a new LS2 and G96-00 gearbox.
Lack the drive shafts, the adapter plate engine-transmission, clutch, alternator, the fuel system, intake and exhaust, and something else.
I would make a good street car to go to the mountains, where I live.
I'd like to finish it for August and come to the Factory Day 2017 to wet it with some good Italian wine, but unfortunately drink only you, because I'm a teetotaler ... yes, I've this nasty disease !!! rolleyes
Will you help me? wink

However you may have no idea how happy I'm for this car ... or maybe yes ??? !!! spin

Welcome Diego!
I'm an Ultima owner too... from north east of Italy (20miles from Stefano's home).
Mine is a Can-Am yellow with a high modified procharged sbc (ex v8yes) sequential SQS gearbox...
We keep in touch!
Alberto.

Hi Alberto, we hang out at the same places, I'm Otzi on LLCC forum. wink

... however today I had the first problem, the first in a long line, I think.
I opened for to see the gearbox as it was inside ... and I can not close it.
I think the problem is in the displacement of the reverse gear shaft while closing the box, I look better tomorrow. rolleyes
Uff...

Hi guys,
while I wait for parts ordered to the factory wanted to prepare my engine, but soon came the first problem rolleyes : turning the intake can not fix it because it touches the oil pressure sensor (I think it's him).
I've to change the crankshaft cover ?
Or cut and weld the hole and move the oil pressure sensor? And where ?
Ideas and tips very welcome !!!!!

Hi,

If you intend to do this yourself, you will need to cut the oil pressure post off the valley cover, drill, thread and plug with a blanking screw. You can then reposition the oil pressure sensor using an adaptor that bolts on the oil gallery, just above the oil filter.

Or,

There are also some suppliers who will sell a new valley cover. see Katech link below that simply re-positions the sensor with a valley cover modification.

http://store.katechengines.com/modified-valley-cov...

You need to make sure however that the stock GM oil presser sensor is matched to your dash/gauge, if not you will end up fitting a sensor that does which may determine which option you take on the valley cover.

Thanks for great info. I think I'll cut and I'll move the oil sensor somewhere else.
