Different engine entirely, 720hp normally aspirated I believe.

The supercharged Evo also has that heavy supercharger on top of the engine so arguably wouldn't handle quite as well as the old 720.

Real shame the aero ability wasn't addressed which would have been far more useful IMO than more power which you can't get down anyway in many situations.

I agree that the supercharger up on top and an extra 300 hp might be a wash at best on the ring. But for those of you that have forgotten, and those that never knew, the Factory has been to the Ring. With the Amerspeed 720hp SBC they where on track for an impressive number. Gauged by segment times and ring master driver input. Then on the appointed day "it precipitated like a bovine urinating on a flat metamorphic rock". My question would be what would a properly tuned L.S. motor with one of the new cable shifted boxes in an Evo chassis do.
When I say Amerspeed above I mean that as an insult. I for one am not impressed with their product, horse power claims or prices. Love the Ultima to death, have a very high opinion of the folks that make up Ultima, and their product support, but not their chosen engine supplier. Just my opinion, everybody has one. Lee

I think it is about time the Factory recorded some official figures for the 1000hp Evo.

As a small company a trip to the ring for a record is rather costly.

However, a repeat of the Top Gear Track run would be interesting, Santa Pod runs or a lap time set at Silverstone GP Circuit. If nothing else a run at Bruntingthorpe.

Bit late in the year now but something for next Spring maybe.

Yup - the Evo has been around for a while now, but not a single video has been provided to demonstrate any of the timings that have been teased.... come on factory what are you waiting for!? Brunters is cheap enough to hire, so let's get some acceleration video & times at least.... a re-visit to the TG track too would be interesting. As for the Ring, well, there are plenty of laps recorded on quiet tourist days for fun wink Time to pony up the footage - please!
