Hello All,,, i just wanted to ask you,, when putting the engine in and there is no need for the powersteering pump,, what do you do,,, to get the belt around the waterpump,, let the pump stay in,,, or another wheel ??

Yes an idler pulley, I think you can but a steering pump delete kit.
Try Summit racing or the like

Not an LS3 but an LS7 but you can see the idea.

Most of it is my DIY approach. Some bits I made and some are sourced from the US.
Please don't ask me where I got them. I should have made notes especially as my memory is fading away...................

I produce an aluminium casting that bolts to the head using those 4 bolt holes. It allows a lot more of the belt to wrap around the water pump. The casting's not expensive but depending on what pulley you use and whether it's got a single or twin bearing installed can effect costs.

I guess that depends on how much wrap you want around the pump. :-)

Does the belt have a tendency to slip with this type of set-up. It would be interesting to know if someone with a LS3 or 7 chimes in

I think raising the tensioner to the right of the water pump would reduce the wrap on the alternator. Much more of an issue IMO.
