Did you guys see the PH story: NEXT-GEN FERRARI RACECAR DEBUTS? At the bottom, next to last line, am I reading that correctly? This F430 doesn't have a carbon exhaust, does it? CF can't take that kind of heat, can it?

its proberly only the outside that is CF, just like many CF exhausts are, the rest pipework is mostly stainles steal or titanium...

The line reads:

Weight reduction measures include the plastic windscreen, the all-carbon fibre intake plenum cover, and exhaust system.

After reading it again, I think the author is saying they have made weight reductions in the exhaust, intake, and windscreen...with no inference that the exhaust is CF.

My stainless system also has individual flanges (3 in total on each header) but I know the factory stopped doing them in favour of a one piece design quite some time ago. I only had issues with fitting the headers from new the first time round, I guess I have been lucky that on the several occassions that I have taken them off they went back on "quite" easily, but in life there is always one...

Yep me to......with mine it's the long pipe that's a bugger to fit. Spoke to a previous builder and was told to be very careful as there's a good chance of screwing the thread up in the head, it's going to take acouple of us to get the headers on!!!!!
If you look on Stig's site you'll see that the headers now have a one piece flange.

Are these cars in Melb (from the gallery you posted)?
I really like the induction setup. Looks like its CF also.

Looks like the A/C compressor hoses will be interfering with the exhaust headers? Any idea if this was really a problem? What was the fix if so?

This photo shows a tag on the header saying “CER racing services”, one of the photos shows the car out the front of “gt40 Australia” and these guys are in Queensland.

If you look carefully at some of the other photos in the blog you will notice that the chassis have been modified and therefore these exhausts may not fit if you had a standard Ultima chassis and were using engine adaptor plates to allow the use of standard sbc mounts. Not sure if I’m a fan of these, I think that the ones that are being built by spectrum are a lot neater.

Someone else on the forum has informed me that they were trying to make contact with them and work out what the details were so hopefully the verdict will be in soon on weather or not they can supply.
