Your splitter coming off is perhaps a worry.
Do you know yet how and why?
1. If it came undone then Loctite may be the answer.
2. If it caught on something then Bruntingthorpe is perhaps too rough for an Ultima.
3. If it ripped off then it was working and we all need one.
If the answer is 3 then we all need the results of the post mortem you perform so that the required modifications can be performed.

Despite this, well done on the speed.

Number 3. It was ripped off.

The post mortum is that I can't find any damage to the car except some of the fibreglass lip that it mounted to. Splitter itself was also not badly damaged but is unusable now as I broke it in half to take it home. It does have a very large tyre mark down the middle of it though.

I used rivnuts to attach to the lip which is obviously inadequate, I also fabricated four brackets behind the body which were all torn off.

For information the car was no less stable at speed without the splitter, However it is obvious it will do its job very effectivelly round the corners.
Shame I don't have time to re-fit it before my track day this afternoon.

Spent some time at the 2002 Rolex Daytona with the K&N GTR. I don't think they were running a splitter, but they kept damaging the front lip in practise mainly because the ride height was set low. . In order to keep air from getting under the car, they finally wound up riveting a rubber skirt to the lip that projected straight down, and trimmed just above the ground. It would flex everytime it hit something. Must have worked, because they were running some impressive times before the car broke.
