Many of you will know that I am a man on a mission to get as much enjoyment out of my Ultima before I sell her on this summer.

This last week has been among my most enjoyable of my entire Ultima experience and for that reason I wish to share the reasons why with you all.

Firstly I got to meet many of the 'Names' in person at the Factory open day, if you missed it then you missed out (Even CJ's car made a rare appearance, loverly car by the way).

After the open day myself and Guy (Bluesatin) went on to Bruntingthorpe for some high speed shanagins.
There was a number of expensive and exotic machinery there, I only did three runs as we were late to the day but it was still enough to clinch fourth fastest of the day at 183mph. (second place was one mph faster)

Nievely I thought 1.75miles would be enough to max the car out so was coasting round the corner before the straight, I have no doubt if I had added 30mph (could easily) then it would have topped 190mph as it was still accelerating at the timing gear and I'm geared for well over 200mph.

I did video the fastest (and only one I kept my foot to the floor) run, and after watching the video what struck me was how fast the car accelerates from standstill. I have to admit I was shocked and now have a little more sympothy for those victims I have made endure it.

My final jaunt this week was to a Autocar Palmer track day, this was excellent and involved me being able to thrash my car around a track safe in almost total safety (nothing to hit).
I was also given a bit of tuition in the VX220 for a couple of laps and you only need to ask CLIVEGTR how much extra confidence that gave me. (I also got this on video).

Before I bore you any more I must say that the car (ULTIMA CAN-AM) behaved absolutelly impecably has performed rain or shine despite a total thrashing and I genuinelly can't think of any other car I would rather have. It is to coin a phrase "the ULTIMATE car".

Even my everyday car is sulking and blown its head gasket, which means that at the moment, my Ultima IS my everyday car.

DOES LIFE GET ANY BETTER?

Nice on Andy. Can't wait to be able to enjoy mine to 'the full' soon too and am very flattered to be called a 'name'

Regarding videos, if you can get them to me somehow I can host them on a webstreaming server so we can all have a gawp.

Must be nice popping down to Tesco's in your everyday runabout

Having begun driving mine, I agree. Doesn't get much better. I drove mine to work 2 days this week, before the rains came. And it's pretty easy to live with as a daily driver, need to get my AC charged though as is gets hot with the sun shining when sitting at traffic lights. The Helicoptor vents work very well while moving though.

I've installed the hardware to download the digital video of the two events, I've even installed the software........It's a first it works first time......... Right up to the point that it casually informs me my hard drive is not fast enough

Most anoying thing is that the even lower spec PC upstairs has a huge very fast drive in it from when it failed, but I couldn't get it working in this PC and gave up.
I don't have time for this

Andy

All I can say is that I enjoyed Sunday despite not running and I have a couple of nice shots of your motor. If more Ultima owners were like you with your give it a try and enjoy attitude we could book Bruntingthorpe for ourselves. Perhaps one day?

Is it? That's one deciding factor on whether I get one. I'd prefer to have only one car at a time (so has to be a daily driver).

I'll post my questions under a new thread, in the hope all might see
