Anyone used a cable shifter for a GTR with a G50/52? This would solve my problems with linkage contact between the oil pan, oil inlet fitting for the motor and the location of the dry sump tank.

thanks,

I've seen someone use the cable on this box, I think the kit was manufactured over there in the US.

Try the back issues of the Ultimatum as the red GTR with gold grills is the one I'm thinking of. He had a site for the car as well so the info may be there.

Reserve the right to be wrong though.

We built a new linkage to get around the same type of pan and the oil inlet. (Acutally modified the Ultima one, but added material) Three new brackets, another rose joint and a bunch of head scratching and it works wonderfully on our G50/52. Then sent the whole thing off to the powder coater to make it pretty again.

Let us know if you need any shots or assistance.

I would be interested in seeing some pictures. I just ordered my g50/50 from PHII and he said they way develop a paddle shifter system for the car.

The paddle shifter has been a long time coming. I am working with Roger getting him some info, as I would like to see this become a reality. My guess is it is still months off unless he gets a couple of firm orders for them

I will get some photos of the linkage change up on brammo.com over the next few days.

The GTD40 has a Renult box with Cable change. But it's crap and all the race boys fit a rod linkage like the factory. Basicaly if the box was designed for a Rod linkage I would stick with it. The Getrac Box was designed for a cable change and so the factory use modified Porscher Parts.
Tryed both types in my GT40 and found that the Rod was simple and effective.

Good luck.

Craig,

Quaife has a SMG transaxle. A little pricey and don't know if it would fit the Ultima(has a large bulge on the rear).
