It's not mine, Dom. Was just a chap's at the meeting... he'd got the LCD screen attached to the controller, which looked very good, especially with the remote control, rotating camera mount smile

Hi Dom,

The original Phantom could use the Wireshark goggles, but you had to mount your own GoPro + buy your own gimbal - but usually this was fixed, unlike the Phantom Vision 2 - The Phantom did not use Wifi but usual radio waves for transmitting and receiving, which meant that it was easier to modify for those with skills in this area..
The Vision uses a Wifi extender to communicate with the camera, which means distance is Good but not exceptional - however this P2 is more stable, everything out of the box (no messing) and has a longer life in the air. The down-side is that Wireshark Goggles are not an option at least for now... but generally I am very happy with it with my iPhone being able to 'see' what it sees! The years of flying model helis when there ware very little aids, makes this a snip to fly!

mines the DJ! F450, but im building the hex 550 when time allows.

the idea will be to use the Oculus rift goggles when they come out and record too.

im not bought the hero3 as I don't like them and waiting on a better cam to come out at decent money.

Do you have a non-standard rack in that car - seems to have a lot of lock to get round the hairpin at the start?

Jonny,
I do my best at that point but definitely I can't do it better with the kumhos v70. My rack is the standard from Ultima but the hairpin is a 180º with a very small radious.....

Please remind me which gearbox you have in that car. Great change.
Do you use the car on the road and if so what is the change like in town and can it cope with stop-start traffic.

Paul
Paul,
The gearbox is a Gemini/Ricardo with a taller 6th gear and a taller final crown/pinion as well to improve the top speed.
Although the car is road registered it has been modified for track use with a large aero package (mostly underneath) which makes it quite difficult for regular road use. The seq.gearbox is great on track but not good for going to the bakery on sunday morning.
Cheers,
Javier

I like the mirrors on the wings. a nice amount of visibility and nicely out of the way of the doors.

Hey guys.... I'd never planned on doing track days, but the occasional single session is nice to just let the car loose a little ;-)

I don't know what the DB limit was to be honest, but I didn't see anyone get flagged, so I think it's pretty generous.

Dom.... Yup, I go to Shelsley whenever possible as it's a nice 35m drive... were you there too?

Wow, this thread has gone quiet frown I can't believe in a yr since my last posting, I'm the one resurrecting it, come on guys, join in!!

Same event 1 yr on.... The Can Am in a short taster session (it was reg flagged twice for Porsche incidents):

Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPvVi_r6rlM
Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vadDX8PCfKw

Continued work on the chassis is paying off, the car is feeling better & better with each tweak smile

Hi Mark
Don't know if you remember I met you at the Classic Car show last year. What are your current settings and what changes did make?
Thanks
Roj

I'd be interested too Mark.

A settings thread would be good, as would making it a stickie
