How much can an engine with dry sump lubrication be lowered?
How does a gearshift linkage go in case of center gear knob (LHD car)?

Igor:
If you want to lower the engine you will need to modify too much things in the Ultima. Theorically you can made an special oil pan with only a few inches deep but by other hand the chassis supports in the Ultima need to be lowered too and take in mind how about the rear crossmember under the gearbox. I think that is a job for a very patient guy.
I fitted dry sump system in my GTR and I have the central gearshift but I haven´t air conditioning. The problem is how to redirect the gear linkage if you install the aircond.compressor....mmmm?
Anyway, I think that I have some pictures of my install on my webpage at http://personales.jet.es/jmarino

Good luck

Dry sump pan only 4.5" where as Wet sump 7", but Gearbox only has about 38 mm Clearance, so you can lower the lot a least 35mm, maybe more at the front but don't tilt the engine to far down at the front as that causes problems with air pockets at the back of the cylinder heads.
Problems that you may have will be with the exhaust system and as srreck says, the Center mounted Rod linkage will need to be modified (bent maybe), But fitt the factory Getrag cable change box and that overcomes that. Oh yes and you have to cop off and re make the engine mounts. Just depends how serious you are.. But yes anything possible, it just needs alittle thinking...
