Tinted Window Laminate

Has anyone tinted the side windows of the GTR with a laminate? I am having a professional shop place a dark laminate visor inside on the front windscreen, but am considering a medium tint on the side windows. Just unsure of the side window's material suitability.
Factory has the car completed 1 August, so there is time.
