Hello,
How reliable is the A/C unit under the dash? Anybody besides Stig have the blower motor die? As I plan how to begin assembly of my GTR (once parts get here), I am wondering if I need to make sure the A/C box under the dash is servicable? Maybe an access panel or removable tray? Has anybody addressed this issue before?

I've been playing with, and completed, a fresh air system with a control valve. This all fits up under the dash forward of the A/C. While laying upside down in the footwell I was looking at and considering if the A/C could be removed for service/replacement. I'm pretty sure it could be done but would be a pain to do.
You could probably retrofit one as well. The difficult bit would be getting the pipes to the back.

Actually, my blower motor didn't completely die. One of the fan impellors got caught on something, I free'd it off and excluding one hiccup, it's been fine ever since!

I must have one of the only Ultimas with a genuinely COLD cockpit! I have to keep turning the A/C off

Obviously, lagging the radiator pipes as they pass through the side pods is a must do modification!!

Thanks for the thoughts. I know I'll work on a fresh air duct system for mine also during the build. As for lagging the side pipes, not sure yet. I may do extra insulation on the side panels and sill covers, and not change the cooling system.
