4 point or 6 point harness?

For those slim line Ultima drivers I would agree the 6 point is best (apart from negotiating the Péage on the LeMans trip).
For me a four point will be fine as there is no possibility of my belly getting under the lap belt. If it did then what came out the other side would not be worth saving anyway.

Submarining isn't the only danger. The shoulder straps will pull the lap strap up. It should sit across your hips, but if the straps pull it up so it's across your belly it won't protect you properly in an accident. The crutch strap enables you to do the shoulder straps up tighter without the lap strap riding up.For me a four point will be fine as there is no possibility of my belly getting under the lap belt. If you do go for a 6 point, make sure you adjust it properly.....

The report says....'the navigator's vital signs were unremarkable but he was in obvious distress.'.http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleUR...
No kidding..his distress must have been 100 time the distress my vitals are feeling after seeing those photos. Think I will have to go dunk them in some ice water to calm them down.

Anybody fit the crotch straps? I drilled the holes for their location (just rear of the seat backs), but I never fitted them. Had to tape 'em up to stop the spray getting in!!
If you are a track hack, I can see their benefit...and really, they would help on the road, but only if you are gonna wrap your roll cage in foam.
Yeah, I know it looks st, bit when you spent 15,000 miles with one eye 8 inches from your potential fate, you can suffer a touch 'o foam!!
I had them in the GTR. Could use the belts as 4 or 6 point. If you are a track hack, I can see their benefit...and really, they would help on the road, but only if you are gonna wrap your roll cage in foam.

Holy s**t, that is not a great look!!!
Have gone for a 6 point Sabelt harness, will probably use 4 point most of the time and 6 point for track days.
best of both worlds, might invest in a jock strap though.
How have you secured the 2 lower points, normal bolts stuffing the straps under the seat when not in use, or eye bolts and harness clips putting them on when needed?

I have used eye bolts bolted through the floor then you can unclip the crotch straps if you don't want to use them. Out of interest, I have just made some special washers to stop the studs catching on speed bumbs etc. This was a problem in my old Cerbera, damaging the threads and nuts, so I thought I'd fix it before it broke!Have gone for a 6 point Sabelt harness, will probably use 4 point most of the time and 6 point for track days.
