I strongly recommend a 6 point harness. Yes it's a hassle, but in case of a crash eek the 6 point avoids the submarining effect and body to finish up against the pedals.

Anybody fit the crotch straps? I drilled the holes for their location (just rear of the seat backs), but I never fitted them. Had to tape 'em up to stop the spray getting in!!

If you are a track hack, I can see their benefit...and really, they would help on the road, but only if you are gonna wrap your roll cage in foam.

Yeah, I know it looks st, bit when you spent 15,000 miles with one eye 8 inches from your potential fate, you can suffer a touch 'o foam!!

^^^ I also have six point harnesses but have not fitted the crotch straps - can you see some kind of pattern emerging here?

I will be @ GW under the 'Softly Softly Catchee Monkey Racing' banner so the EBC will not be necessary hehe

But seriously, it is typical of us that we want to use all the right racing stuff and have top spec parts on our cars but few will ever be in the situation whilst using the car where these parts will be used in the manner that they were intended.

^^^ Why?
I don't even have the car on site yet.
The Sparco belts are required for Spot II & III ( one for each car )

Have you bought another Ultima P?

Go 5 with push type buckle (Scroth). Easy and safe.

I did a lot of research before choosing belts for a new tarmac rally car (after writing off the previous one pretty comprehensively) and definitely go 5 or 6 as there's been some very nasty injuries from submarining- i.e. sliding under the lap belt. Correctly positioned a crotch strap isn't uncomfortable and could make a big difference to the outcome of an off. If it's a hassle for daily/road driving just leave the crotch strap under the seat and you've got a 4-point.

For those slim line Ultima drivers I would agree the 6 point is best (apart from negotiating the Péage on the LeMans trip).

For me a four point will be fine as there is no possibility of my belly getting under the lap belt. If it did then what came out the other side would not be worth saving anyway.
