Nothing technical going on just a good, old fashioned rebuild.

New paint, quite a few new parts and a few upgrades.

Here are the pictures.

If you are interested I will keep them coming.

She's back on the dolly after 10 years on her wheels!

Is the sofa for when you get worn out walking over to the toolboxes?
Are you sure you have enough space?

No Steve.
The sofa is for when I want to sit and drink a beer from the fridge and watch the rugby.

The exercise going too and from the tools helps burn off the beer!!!!!!!!!

It does look a wee bit tight in that garage! Are you sure you can manage?

When you spread out all the parts of an Ultima the workshop doesn't look quite so big!

That is an outstanding looking work space. Clean floor, plenty of light, tools galore and a lathe in the background. Wow. What is the platform on the right of the first picture? Somewhere to take a nap? I don't seem to see the telly.... Screen the same size as the work space?

My wife has suggested that I should put a bed in there but she spends hours playing with her horse so no complaints really.
The platform is a covered store room full of mainly junk so is due for a sort out.
The TV is to the left of the first picture, and no it's not too big.

I do make a point of not working too late in the evening and not to the exclusion of everything else. I want to keep my wife on side when the bills start to roll in as she does our accounts!

I will update with more pictures as I go but I am not planning a "build site".

Paul: you're looking at this all wrong. My wife also has horses, several of them and she competes on them in dressage. Once, several years ago shoe strated to say something about some money I had spent on one of the toys in the shop. I imediatly started listing the costs of horse ownership. I didn't get very far beyond shoes, vets and hay when she threw her hands up and said" If I never bring this up again will you forget that I said anything: The truce has lasted longer than most marriages. I don't get to see all the bills for the horses (3) and she loves to pay cash for quite a bit of it so nothing on paper - clever eh!
I will be putting another 6 acres down to grass this spring to cut our hay/haylage costs over the next few years.
I don't begrudge her her hobby but mine tends to come with some large, obvious costs whereas hers are smaller but more often.

paul as you said "she pays the bills " she likes to pay in cash"
I support my wife totally in her hobby. BUT, don't let anyone tell you a horse is cheaper than a car. Of course this is all said in good humor, good wives are hard to come by, bad ones are even harder to get rid of and pay off. If it takes a hay burner or two to keep the Harley Davidson's out of the driveway, cheap investment! good luck with your rebuild. When you get to the point of putting the windshield back in P.M. and I will see if I can come up with another windshield gasget. Way better than mountiong the window with silicon. Lee

Seems to me you need to sell the Ultima and buy a real Lamborghini to satisfy the needs of the misses.

Strip down update. It's completely naked now!

My workshop doesn't look quite so big when you spread a complete Ultima out over it!

I think that's the easy bit over. Now the clean up and rebuild starts.

Are you going to put the proper roll cage in while you are doing the re-build ?
