I remember going Karting about 10 years ago in some seriously quick petrol karts. We were doing "endurance races" of 20 laps at a time. I had got the hang of this overtaking maneuver around the outside of a big banked Nascar type turn, proper hero stuff that was getting me up the places.

Come the next round of 20 laps I go on lap one to execute my Nascar Hero maneuver ..... only to learn just how much extra grip tires at race temp have than cold ones on their 2nd or 3rd turn......

broke 4 floating ribs and dislocated my shoulder ....

it hurt to fart for a few months, never mind laugh or take a st. Best advice the doctor could give me was to "stay off the high fiber food for a while!!" bd was laughing as he told me that too ...

As I'm the fat bd in the group, you three should be carrying ballast!

6 cans of Leo would be the FIA approved ballast.

I think im the lardiest of the bunch but no fears, my silky smooth driving skills will outweigh any manboob ballast. Sparco booties at the ready.

the last time i went karting we made a party out of it with beer, samba and burning animals. Are there facilities for festivities trackside here? And, are we allowed a two-wheeled showdown on our mopeds?

Time for a weigh in, 99.9kg as of last night.

Silky smooth Scotsman? Surely such an anomaly cannot exist?

Nnnnnnnnrrggg! I'm spent

That's only going one way too.

Interestingly 360's are only depreciating at 0.48% month on month currently.

aaah the 360. It was demonised for its fat arse and "its not a drivers car, its too urban, not a real frarri" .... what a load of pish. When a 40k miler drops under 30K it will be a great daily runner if you live in blighty.

Yes thats true, ive never really been classed as smooth. "Ragged, sketchy, over enthusiastic," were all in the comments box from Knockhill race school. Poofs!

I hope Thai Health n Safety rules dont stop you using your Audrey Hepburn cigarette holder whilst driving the Kart

Can anyone from the PH community in Bangkok give an update on the situation there. Travelling to Krabi for CNY with the family from Sing. Assume all is fine there and FCO advice is still green. Is it a case of watch this space ?
Cheers

World's most impotent blockade outside my office. Actually improved traffic flow!

Are you flying direct? Can't see any problems down there but there's always the possibility of closing the airports in Bangkok. In terms of safety you'd have to be very unlucky or foolish to get caught up in anything as a normal holiday maker.

Edited to sober up a bit

It was my phone, and not the protests that turned Ekkamai on it's side.. In case you were wondering.

For XJSJohn: it was my phone and not the 25 Leos last night that turned Ekamai on it's side.

LOL ...

Was up there on Monday and yesterday for a few meetings - the protests have managed to significantly improve the traffic flow in Bangers so well done Suthip!! finally done something useful!!!

Monday had crowds out but they had already lost steam by yesterday!!

Shouldn't be any problems getting about or for transiting!!

Europe - The Final Countdown at Asoke was amusing!!

They got a bit more serious later on and totally blocked Ekkamai, but it all seemed very good natured. I walked right through the middle of it and my biggest gripe was that they'd eaten all grilled chicken at my favourite barbecue shop.

Lucky they didn't drink all my beers or I'd have got the water cannon out.

Anyone know where (and for how much) I can buy a drone with a good camera?
I was watching people taking photos of the protests with them yesterday and they look like awesome fun. Seems to be tons of them on Amazon etc but they won't usually post stuff here.
