Help bmw m3 e46 smg expert in Hong Kong needed

Hi I have an 05 m3 with an smg box which only has 50k on the clock and is imported from the uk ( by me). The smg box has started flipping into neutral which is a known issue. I am looking fr a mechanic who really knows the smg box in Hong Kong as my present guy seems to want to fund his next three years holidays without fixing the problem but replacing every part . Appreciate any help.

Can you read chinese? If so, have you visited bmwzone.hk yet?

A friend of mine had something similar to your problem, but no one could completely fix the problem after two goes at it, so he paid a lump of money to convert it into manual.

If the pump is dying, most people will recommend you going back to BMW, it'll cost more, but you'll a least get warranty on it.

If you've been in HK long enough, you'll know most garage will try to con you, and most garage will tell you they can fix XYZ but you might still end up with a broken box after paying 30k+

I can get you the details of two garages which my friends used if you want to try.

Search first then put up a post on M3Forum explaining your symptoms. I would be surprised if you didn't get a very useful response.

Not the answer you're looking for, but I can sell you a manual box if you're interested. It's from my old race car. Although thinking about it, it's a 5 speed from an e36 M3, so maybe not your first choice. Either way, PM me if interested - it's in Hong Kong.
