So, I'm leaving Shanghai this summer after 3 years of pollution, spitting and the rest of it... there have been a lot of good times etc, but pastures new are calling.

My wife and I will be moving to Nagoya in the summer, and after 3 years of pushbikes and electric scooters, it's time to get behind the wheel again!

While I know I could have lots of fun car wise in Japan, the reality is teachers salaries are ok, but not amazing, so and R35, or NSX etc aren't going to happen... We have been advised that with a budget of around 1500 sterling we can get a 'half decent, around 5 year old car.' Now, I was in Nagoya the last few days, and none of the teachers appear to be car people judging by the car park, and while Yellow plate cars are tempting, I can't imagine out of the city they will be all that good.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to look online for second hand car sales, so I can get a feel for whats available? Budget isn't fixed, but a selection of dullness doesn't appeal, the snowboarding on the other hand certainly does!

Hi andy, I am Irish and also living and working in Nagoya, and we buy cars from auction for customers, normally for export. If you wanted we could probably find something for you, maybe like a Toyota Vitz, Nissan March or a Honda Fit, with shaken still valid on it. Drop me an email if you are interested to imekajdm@gmail.com
