Small TV with Freeview and Aerial?

My Mun could do with a new TV for her bedroom. In the good old days you'd buy a portable TV which would have a wire loop coming from the back of it, and usually that would be sufficient to get a signal.

I'm not so sure that will work with Freeview?

So does anyone have any suggestions on either a TV with Freeview and an aerial built in, or the least bulky/ugly way of adding an aerial to a small TV with inbuilt Freeview?

The TV is not the issue all TVs need (pretty much) the same signal strength to operate, this is VERY unlikely to come from an indoor aerial, you can get a guide by putting your postcode into here and seeing what your signal strength is likely to be.

Scroll down to "coverage prediction" if it states you have "good reception" then buy a decent indoor aerial from some where you can easily get a refund and give it a bash.

Portable TV's of old used to have an extra IF stage in the tuner making them have higher gain than a standard TV and able to work better of a coat hanger, modern TV's are lucky to have tuner that works when connected to Jodrel Bank. Unless you live next door to a transmitter its highly unlikely you would get a good signal from a set top Aerial.
