For what it is I think the Play:5 is a great piece of kit with great sound, you do need to play with the eq settings a little.

The Play:3 is less impressive and needs really abusive eq settings to get it sounding ok.

Thanks for that information, I was beginning to think it was just my ears not hearing "correctly".

Play 3 is ideal for kitchens and bedrooms plus it can be stood vertically to take less space. Play 5 or ZP120 with speakers for all other areas. Actually if youve got the funds, 2 x Play3 in stereo mode are not too shabby

I was not impressed at all by the Play:3, and the small difference in price to get the Play:5 is worth the extra.

Overall one of the best purchases I've made ever, especially with the Rhapsody subscription.
