Panasonic plasmas have been plagued with faulty screens ever since the P70's, we replace 20+ per week in our little workshop alone, I know in the grand scheme of things 20 per week out of thousands per week sold isnt much, but its enough to put me off buying one.
No st, if you do repairs on Panasonic TVs, you're going to see lots of broken ones. How many don't you see? Do you have a percentage failure rate? I bet you don't.

I like my Panasonics, but I wish they'd ditch that crappy EPG they insist in using - I'd rather have full screen EPG without some poxy advertisement taking up half the screen.

Because you're not comparing like with like - the plasma is only 768 resolution (so will do 720p = HD 'Ready'). The LCD you linked to is a full 1080p screen, so 'fuil HD'.

The equivalent 1080p plasma screen is about £430. If you can change the order and find another £30, it would be money very well spent. If you're buying now, there's no reason not to go 'full' HD with a 1080 screen.

Personally I wouldnt buy a Panasonic LCD as they pics are Crap, I wouldnt go for the Plasma either as ive seen enough of them with duff screens to put me off completely... you wont hear this often on this forum as every one is well and truley brainwashed here but id be getting a Samsung LED, the pics arnt perfect but are good, the cabinet is basically the best looking thing in production from any manufacturer and when they do go faulty your not looking at an arm and a leg to fix them.
You'd better change your name to Nutcase mate, as you are talking complete bks!

Samsung LED better than a Plasma? roflrofl

I suggest you give this lot a call as you could write everything you know about TVs on the back of a
Stamp.

Im entitled to an opinion arnt I? No ware did I say a Plasma is better than an LED, I just expressed my findings. Your ridicule just leads me to believe your just totaly brainwashed like most people on here are.

I see hundreds of TV's during my working hours, Panasonics rate very lowly on my list right now....what TV's have I got? I got 2 Panasonic 42PW7's and a Panasonic 42PA20, I dont have a downer on Panasonic as a whole but they certainly arnt as reliable as they used to be.

What's this then from your own post...i'd be getting a samsung LED I think this pretty much nails your colours to the mast, don't you?

As i've been retailing TVs for 18 Years and in the last 10 years have sold 1000s of flat panel TVs from every brand imaginable I feel i'm
qualified to give an unbiased opinion.
That opinion state quite simply that with the disappearance of the Pioneer Kuro Plasma Range, the 09/10/11 model year Panasonic plasma
range offer by far THE best all round picture quality on the market today, know they're not without issues, and people will
trot them out ad nauseum such as Floating blacks (fixed with a recent firmware update) the dreaded 50hz bug (visible from under 3 feet
only) and completely solvable if you run IFC in its MID setting, to name but two.

Have you actually looked at your average side lit LED screen from slightly off axis? all the blacks turn grey! So what use is a set if only
one person (ie the one sat right in front of it!) can see an accurate picture?

Given the numbers of Panny Plasmas that I sell I think if they where as unreliable as you maintain we'd be inundated with call on a daily basis, we're not! We get more problems with Sony, Philips and LG then we ever do with Panasonic.

You use the term "brainwashing" I find that quite interesting, because i'm aware of a very remunerative sales promo that Samsung have been running for a couple of Years that basically give sales staff what amounts to a Bung for every set sold, would you be in the retail side
of the industry perchance? because it's practices like this that put them in the position they're at now, not the supposed quality
of the Set.

It was very interesting that when I worked for one of Samsungs largest dealers not one member of staff would entertain owning one
personally, mainly because of the returns percentage under the "distance selling regulations" that we had to take back, it was something like
5 times that of equivalent Sony/Panasonic models and twenty times that of the Pioneer Kuro range!

I think it's V1.13 but i'll check tomorrow, but if you're troubled by FBs than use the set in THX mode as it rarely happens in that mode..

Must've been thinking of a totally differant number in my head, the latest firmware is V1.158
