I've seen that these have now been reduced to £350 and there are some very good reviews for it online. However, does anyone on here own one of them? I'd be very interested to find out what people actually think of them as I'm thinking of getting either one of these or a Zeppelin Air.

I have heard them both together and preferred the Zeppelin Air which I bought a couple of weeks ago.

It is a very good price, you need to add some bits for wireless music where the Zeppelin is AirPlay enabled and easy to set up.

Arcam Rcube is quite light and more portable than the Zeppelin.

I would really recommend listening to them both together before purchase.

Thanks Ben, I know that the Zeppelin has the Airplay on it but is it worth it for an extra £150?

I bought the Zeppelin Air as my only sound system, I use AirPlay all the time and can play anything from my computer using phone/iPod as a remote.

You could plug an airport express in the back of the rcube, this would take it up to £430 and in my opinion the Zeppelin is definitely worth the extra.

The Zeppelin mini is also very very good smile

Hiya,

I have a Cube bought after extensive listening tests. It is much more natural and musical than the Zepelin which sounds a bit like a large transistor radio.

The point would be arguable at £500 but at £350 the Arcam trashes the Zep and of course it is portable with built-in batteries

I've taken mine to a few picnics and it's brilliant

From my point of view, no contest and the Zep Mini isn't even in the running

Cheers Peter

Thanks for the input Peter, I think I'm going to go and have a look at one later in the week smile

Anybody know how the sound quality compares to the Vita Audio R2i or R4i?

I listened to a number of iPod docks the other day and was underwhelmed by most of them.
Zeppelin Air - too bassy
Zeppelin Mini - no bass
Arcam rCube - very dependent on how you positioned it
Bose - ok, nothing very exciting.
I found the Vita R2i to be the best sounding unit, but does look like a big clock radio!

It does a bit, you're right! I guess the rCube just looks like a subwoofer...
