Ok, so i am nearly at the point of buying my new TV, and having done some research and looking around, I am struggling to find anything to beat the LG 50PZ750T that can be had for £700.

Is there anything else I should be looking at for this price (or anything similar), or should I just go and grab this one?

Im no expert on TVs but bought the 50pz550 and its excellent. Its my 4th telly from LG, and touch wood none have gone wrong! The 750 you are looking at comes with networking related stuff that I dont need so bought the 550 for £569 off Currys website.

Cheers for the fast reply mate. I was also looking at this over the 550 as it is THX certified. That in itself should mean superb picture quality.

As for the networking, not something I might want right now, but then who knows....!

Just watch out for reflections, the LG screens are quite reflective compared with some other brands so if you are putting it opposite a window it may not be the best set.

Thanks David, that might be an issue as I have a huge set of folding doors that will be next to the TV. Might need to test this out and see what else.

Got a 750 and its great for watching TV and films etc. Networking useful but internet browser doesn't support flash so useless. LG apps are limited so unless the current apps are all u need then I recommend the 550 for just watching TV without internet.

To be precise, this will be perpendicular to a set of folding doors. Not sure how the light will affect it.

As for the 550 / 750 issue, I am looking at the 750 more for the THX certification rather than the connectivity to the web (which is a bonus if it works etc).

I guess the question really is, that for image quality, for £700, is there anything to beat it in the 50" class. Also, how much more would I have to spend to improve this to a level that justifies the extra spend.

Would you consider the 60" version at around twice the price (1300ish)?

Anything else to consider around the 700-800 price, that would top the image quality of the 50" LG?
