HD freesat - no aeriel. Can I connect to a sky dish?
Discussion
Only thing to bear in mind is freesat doesn't quite have the same lineup as freeview. Google it.
Moving dishes and changing LNB's is DIY stuff too, no need to pay anyone, if you are so inclined.
Get on Ebay and buy:-
- octo or quad LNB
- shotgun cable (2 pair coax) - don't just run one cable, you never know.
- F connectors
Sattelite finder
- Dish (if you need one)
You just need a ladder, your hammer drill and off you go!!

...... engineer to run a 4th cable from the LNB to a socket so that I can connect that to the TV?
Yes.Basicallt you need 1 wire per box to get a picture (SD/HD),you need 2 wires to be able to watch one and recrd another chanel using a PVR

Have noted the comment about temporarily shifting from the back of the sky+ but don't like messing about with connections too much as sooner or later somebody bends or cross threads something. Yes I'm being a nancy.
You big girl..you'd have to be a total moron to break it. Everything you need doing is a piece of pi$$ to DIY.

I have a Humax FOXSAT HDR, it's getting a bit old now but does the trick. Not sure what the current box of choice is
Erm, a Humax Foxsat HDR. http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/products/product_st...
Will even upscale SD tv too!
Saw on another thread that you were quite happy with your new TV, is it safe to assume that you've connected the Sky+ via the rgb scart socket?
The resulting picture with SD feed is my biggest worry tbh, we had an old Sky box feeding a cheap small lcd 19-21" in a student bedroom, and while the picture from DVD is great, from the sky it's quite poor. I just fear the result of that sort of picture scaled up to 40" or so, when we are used to a Panasonic 32"CRT.
