I've recently bought a Sony which has all this internet TV/youtube/iplayer etc support.

I presume there are some tools out there that will let me reconfigure the options for the different feeds?

I'm looking to change the default channels and block some services (TV in Kids study)

Any recommendations?

If your Sony is like my Panasonic all the answers are in the manual.

iPlayer and youtube just worked once I plugged in an ethernet cable into the back (connected to my router at the other end)

I've no problem with the setting up of the (wireless!) network, that all works OK.

But when you go into the internet TV it brings up a default list of services which I'd like to alter - nothing in the manual about this - some of them are pay services and I want those removing.

Apologies for the 'hijack', but is it possible on any of the current internet TVs to change the IP in the LAN settings, or are these directly linked to your router, unlike, say, Windows settings on a lapdog?

On my Pioneer I can, and did, choose a fixed IP.

Some routers can assign static IP addresses based on the MAC address of the connected equipment. Can easily do it on the Billion one I have, but I don't know how widely available this feature is.

Thanks both.

Will investigate further when I'm back in Blighty for more than a day in a couple of weeks.
