Saw on another forum that Lovefilm have changed their pricing structure, making most packages cheaper, but haven't shared this with their customers. I was paying £13.27 for 2 discs/unlimited, now reduced to £9.99.

Seems good - I'm using Blockbuster currently, same package as you for £12.99 (includes games too now).

Are Lovefilm OK for sending stuff? I got a list going that's prioritised but they just send any old stuff off it.

I was on the 9.99 package (1 disc at home) and Lovefilm are increasing my number of discs at home to 2.
I was tempted to switch from them to Blockbusters as although their service is good they don't have all the films. Films like Fast and Furious 5 are not available from Lovefilm (only to buy through an Amazon link) but are through Blockbusters.
It's a difficult choice at the mo as by bringing their prices down they have undercut Blockbusters.
For me if Blockbusters cut their prices (not necessarily to match) I would probably switch.

I got an offer via Amazon - £20 Amazon gift certificate and 30 day free trial with lovefilm - then a lovefilm monthly subscription of £5.99

Cheers OP thumbup

I was on the same package, and noticed i got the following message when looking at my account - "Please note: Your current package ('Unlimited (2 discs at home)', £13.27 per month) is no longer available. If you change onto another package, you will not be able to revert to your current package at a later date."

It seems that they haven't automatically changed it though, or notified existing customers... "free" upgrade to unlimited 3-discs, cheers! beer

Seems Blockbuster have responded. Just went to my account and I can now have the same 2 disc unlimited package for £9.99 - I'll give them a call.

Cheeky gits!

I'm on the 3 discs unlimited package and have been for years. £15.31 a month but if I look to change it I find my package is not available now but an identical one is at £13.27 a month.

You'd assume it would be an automatic switch and a nice email/letter?

Interesting.

I am on the £10.99 deal at the mo, 4 discs a month, 2 at home at a time.

Will have to check if the prices have changed.

I just checked my Blockbuster account and no change there as I have the 3 disc deal, but thanks for the posts in this thread for making me check. In the winter I can get through 3 discs a week and as I watch them on a projector I always chose BluRays (unless only available on DVD), so for £14.99 a month and 3 discs a week it's only a little over a £1 a film. I think it's a great way to watch films as I'm not big on rewatching films, so a bit of a waste to buy them.

Picked up a Lovefilm 6 month/2 disc deal from Amazon's Black Friday week for an £18.99 one off payment.

Not had any discs yet but was slightly disappointed to see I can’t order specific films but need to have a “rental list” of at least 10 films and they send me what they have.

Is this the same for the standard package?

Yep. You select a wish list and categorise them from high to low preference smile

If you put something at high 99.9% of the time it comes through first so don't worry.

For anyone interested - Amazon said that the Black Friday deal will be again this week so check it out on Friday and it should be about £17.50 again:

I put 2 films on "high" after your post and sure enough they have been dispatched

Thanks for raising this! Dropped back down to the 2 disc unlimited package I was on and saved myself a few quid beer
