I'm willing to call you on it if nobody else is.

They're a decent mid-range headphone. They don't justify the price, but to say they're crap, without qualifying it, makes you look as uninformed as the people who buy them thinking they're a seriously high end product. Fabulous they aren't, but I've yet to hear anything which tells me they're dire - and I've put probably 200 hours of mixed genres through them.

They're not my first choice, and I've got far better, far more expensive and far less marketed / hyped headphones and in-ear jobbies to choose from. I didn't pay a penny for the beats ones, so I'm in no way bias. They leak sound like a mofo, they can sound a bit muddy when iPods and the like try and use the various bass / treble presets, and they make you look like a plonker, but to uniformly slam them as being crap is disingenuous at best, bullsh*t at worst.
they are bought by people all wanting that "look" marketing at its best .

I think they are crap and most people i know think they are crap

most things these days are crap
MP3 , music and fashion and the youth thinking they are "stars'

there.... feel better

Indeed, the OP is not the owner of said head phones, merely the father.

May I take this opportunity to thank you all for you most helpful contributions.

This issue has now been fixed.

Not as crap as some of the posts on this thread rolleyes

Back in the day PHead posters were inciteful and witty, the newer ones more troll like it would seem.

You talk about quality of messages, but then don't bother to post how the problem was actually fixed. Not personal to you, but I find that fking annoying. If anybody else has the same issue, they have to start a new topic instead of just being able to read the solution.

Which Monster Beats are crap? There are a number of different models (and therefore prices), I have the Pro's and they are definitely not crap. I also have the Studios but I am not a big fan of them because of the noise they leak but they still sound good to me.

I would be interested to know which model people are saying are crap..

I tried two pairs of over ear jobbies in a Dixons store (solo and studio) and whilst I didn't think they were crap, weren't that great either. I plugged in my iPod tried a few fave (lossless and 320) tracks and found them unbalanced at best. Mid bass excess and not particularly refined mid/treble.

For the price, £160 and £280, I thought I could definitely get better Sennheisers or others for less. Even the balance of my £15 Sennheiser PMX-40's are superior.

In fact I was pretty shocked to be honest. They look great and appear to be well built but for that kind of money I'd expect something verging on audiophile quality. My daughters £50 Skull Candy cans are not much worse but cost a whole lot less.
