I am looking at getting a 47" to 50" 3D TV with a blu-ray home cinema system. I have also just got myself an iPad 2 and upgraded to an iPhone 4S. I would quite like to be able to play music over the home cinema system using Apple Airplay if possible as it looks pretty good.

Anyone know of any home cinema systems that use Apple Airplay? Or do manufacturers have their own equivalents that work as well - and if so would we be best going for same bluray player/home cinema system as the TV?v(In terms of the TV I have looked at the LG 3D 'cinema' TV's that only need lightweight glasses and have a wide viewing angle. I think this would suit us as we have young children and if we had expensive 3D glases we would need multiple sets and this makes it expensive).

Last requirement is that the satellite speakers we would quite like to be wireless.

I was all set to buy a B&W zeppelin air but at £499 solely to use Apple Airplay it is pricey so if we could do it all through a higher quality home cinema system that this would mean we could afford to buy a better TV/bluray/home cinema kit.

Any thoughts?

Add an Apple TV to your shopping list. It's not a TV, more like a set-top box . For £99 you can use AirPlay to you tv and cinema system, as well as displaying pictures and videos from your iPad and iPhone on the TV.

As a bonus it will also pull music, video and pictures from your computer - but a 3D TV is likely to be able to do this anyway.

I've just got a Denon AV amp (an AVR1912, about £330) that has AirPlay built in and it's great. It needs an ethernet connection to your network, but that's fine by me - a mate has gone wifi-only for his home network, and whenever the computers backup over wifi the music stream starts breaking up as there's not enough bandwidth.

You can connect an airport Express to your system and stream to that.

Ditto to Denon - got a 3312 and it's great...just select 'lounge' (cause that's what I called it) from the ipad and the music streams effortlessly!

Brother in law (who works in Hifi) says manufactureres are moving away from airplay now as it's had problems, but mine works really well!
