Hi all, my Bose sound dock as given up the ghost and I need to replace it.

I would like to have DAB on the new system but the question is what would you recommend. I need it to be around the size of the Bose sound dock as it fits into the corner of my kitchen just great.

I would prefer sound quality over flashing lights and gimmicks ect

Looking to spend around £200.

Thanks

Another Bose, or my preference - Sonos.

Both should be able to play radio stations through Apps etc on your iPhone.

One with AirPlay could be a bonus.

Ruark R4i. It looks and sounds excellent. I might be slightly biased as my BiL works for them but he has a few in his house and I know the effort gone into getting them right.

They DO sound good..and get good reviews.

Bit above your budget though.

PM me if you are interested. I can ask about a deal...can't promise anything but worth asking...

I'd second the Ruark range though I'd suggest that the R2i is more in line with the OP's requirements and budget. You can get a 'graded' (ie slight second) R2i direct from Ruark for £224.

Bit old & slow but this is a new name to me.
Looking for something similar, thought the options were Bose or Zeppelin

Go and try a Ruark R2i or R4i if you have the budget, nothing beats them in their market for sound IMO and they are British too just like B&W

Another new name to me I'm afraid
Anyone any good or bad reports on Monitor or Ruark
Before this I thought there was Bose, B&W & Panasonic...
I guess as well as sound there has to be a bit of aethetics come into it and the Monitor does look a little like a part of female anatomy (or is that just me)

There are lots of reviews of the Ruark stuff from the serious HIFI magazines just do a search for Ruark R4i or Ruark R2i review on Google. You can also try searching for Vita Audio R2i review etc as that is what they were called until fairly recently where the name was changed to match their HIFI speaker brand.

I would be interested in anyones thoughts on the B&W A5 or A7. Saw the A5 in the Bullring in Birmingham today, but it wasn't setup, so no idea what they sound like.
