Bridge is only needed if none of your speakers are near a network cable.
You're asking about the software update that lets the speakers work over your wifi network without *any* sonos component having network cable plugged into it.

but you dont need a bridge if you have another unit connected to the web ?The free bridge deal was available everywhere earlier in the year. Think Vex has a different money saving offer

Picked up two play 1's for stereo sound in my living room, and seriously impressed. Got the matching stands too (I forget the brand) and they are great. The modular approach is what sealed the deal. We will be moving in 18 months and the ability to add to the system is great. Plus streaming radio from all round the world is fab - got back from Ibiza and carried on listening to the local (albeit in Dutch) radio station!
At the moment I have an av amp, with 2 floor standing speakers and 2 at the rear. It's 5.1 with the centre and sub.
I presume sonos will play thru the virgin box ? If so, how does it do it ?
Sorry for the noob question.
I want sonos in kitchen and main bedroom so thinking what I'd need for the living room so that films play in 5.1 too.
Best to keep current setup or sonos ?

Sorry to crash this thread, I've been introduced to Sonos today and want to set up throughout my flat. Any downsides to the system? Richer sounds are quoting £164 per play 1 (I need five) and £579 for a play bar- does this sound reasonable? Many thanks.
I have never found sonos equipment any cheaper anywhere. Its a great system I have had mine for 7 years now.Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
