sorry... I just don't get this sonos stuff.......... yep great if you don't really listen to it and it's back ground noise...... not the same as kicking back, saying yourself I'm going to enjoy some music...... needle on the vinyl, or CD in.... lights off, bittle of wine filling glass,,,,,, god I'm old hehehehehe
I have one of the zones connected to the amp and use it exactly like you would the CD player. The bonus is if I'm moving round the house the music can be everywhere and I don't need to go and change the CD.
I played with the Omni10 briefly yesterday and wow, as has been said the richness of sound is amazing for such a little box. The little mid/bass driver on the rear goes nuts!
It is with a friend over Christmas at the moment, but when I get it back I will do a back to back with the Omni10 and 20 against the Play1 and 3.
App is 'different' but then I am used to Sonos, for anyone new to this I am sure it will be fine.
I'll start a new thread when I have done the back to back.

Is it as simple as buying two Omni devices for multi room with one wired to the router for multi room? Or do I need anything else?
I am thinking of treating myself to a Play 1 or 3 but I am just wondering how the systems are actually controlled.
For example, if used my iPhone to start listening to spotify, would music continuing playing if my phone was turned off/disconnected? I assume it would only stop playing if the music being played was on the device?
Thanks in advance

To be honest, the one I set up didn't even need wiring to the router. You can either use the wps button on your router or the app guided me through the set up with the wifi password. Is it as simple as buying two Omni devices for multi room with one wired to the router for multi room? Wow2!
Listening to the HK Omni20 makes me want to just stop and listen to it, depth, clarity and range is amazing. Play:1 just sounds flat and 1 dimensional.
Wife described it as Sonos is backgroung listening HK Omni is deeper and makes you want to stop and listen. Which is a good and a bad thing to her!
Deezer only at the moment, but others are coming and I can play direct from the iPhone. Need to try the Omni10 directly against the play1 and the 20 against the 3.
I'll also confirm pricing for you all.

Excellent. If you don't mind linking to it here, just in case I/We miss the posting of it? V.
I assume there is, or will be Spotify integration available for the HK Omnis?

I'm pleased I didn't rush out and buy a sonos. Listening to the HK Omni20 makes me want to just stop and listen to it, depth, clarity and range is amazing. Play:1 just sounds flat and 1 dimensional.

I've been eyeing up a 20 for the back room and 10 for the front. Fingers crossed the 10 is just as impressive.
Is Deezer a must?
I am informed that Napster and or Spotify will be added early next month.
Also I noticed that you can set up two of them as stereo pairs.
If there are locals interested I am going to see if I can set up a blind test on equipment and also streaming providers probably in offices in Leighton Buzzard I have access to. I have go Napster, Deezer and Spotify running on 12month freebees at the moment.
I can provide Sonos, Omni's and Monitor Audio stuff straight away, I am sure I can get a lot of others if people are interested.

Unfortunately I'm located in the wrong part of the country otherwise I would have popped in for the blind test. Also I noticed that you can set up two of them as stereo pairs.

If possible, could you drop me a line with details for the Omni 10 and 20? I think these would be what I need for my two rooms.
Thanks
Bought myself a couple of Play one speakers to mate up with the playbar, mounted on Flexson stands, pretty good!
The annoying thing is having to rummage around the settings when you want to use the play one speakers in stereo (for music) there should be a quick setting for this but you have to go in to advanced settings and change the surround speakers from ambient to full.
