Flexon and others do covers for various Sonos kit - worth a look for the Playbar.

Doesn't need the sub, but is better with it.

It's in the ear of the beholder! Can you get to somewhere like a Richer Sounds - they usually have a demo room where you could ask to hear this all.

We did get a brief demo with playbar/sub/2xPlay:1's - sounded very good, but then my heading isn't fantastic anyway, so anything they put up could have sounded good!
Didn't try the playbar without the sub, tbh....I suspect for music it would be reasonable, for TV fine and for action films (or indeed music with lots of bass), perhaps lacking a bit....but I'd recommend hearing for yourself.

Just got a second Play 1 at the weekend and paired it up, all I can say is wow! The sound is awesome set up in our living room.

I have a play 3 and I am tempted to buy another one of those, I hate to think how good they would be paired up.

I've posted this in an other forum, but keen to get input/ideas from folk here too.

My wife and my newly renovated place should be ready for us to move into in Sept (...famous last words).
I want to fill the main living area with sound. And not sure what sonos/other kit to go for.
The linn kit is my existing 'traditional' hifi. And I'd very much like to make use of it (the speakers anyway...).

Cinema sound - for the TV - isn't a priority. But was thinking I might as well get the sonos playbar/sub anyway?
I have a decent Panasonic 50" TV (plasma) but was thinking of using this in a sitting room elsewhere and replacing with a newer Panasonic.

Ideas/Thoughts?

The margins on Sonos are really tight especially the Play:1's so I offer the best I can to PH members and the deal is still open.

Might try to do something with the New Play:5 when it becomes available.
