swtich on router

when router up and running switch on play 5 with finger on button and allow to factory reset

when showing the correct light try to connect



if it doesn't work then open window and hurl.



a few years ago i did have some issues with songs/macbook/network security but until adding this latest play1 from another network I had no serious issues for years.

The Sonos helpline is very helpful apparently. My father spent an hour on the phone to them while they dialled into his laptop and eventually resolved the issue. He said they couldn't have been more helpful.

Did it definitely "factory reset" properly?


Although I am only an enthusiastic amateur I have done quite a few for relatives and friends and never really had a problem that wasnt solved by this.

Seriously - ring them up before you bin it. My experience of using their tech support is that they answer the phone straight away (after 2pm - they are in the US after all), guided me through how to run a diagnostic and send them the report (2 mins) and diagnosed a faulty cable between my router and the first Sonos box. The other occasion that I phoned them it was because I'd moved some units around and confused the mesh network somehow - they reset it for me and it's been fine since.

They are superb, I got sonos when it came out but couldn't get it to work. Spent about half an evening on the phone with the most patient person you could ever speak to, turned out the sky router at the time didn't like it so had to attach another router to the router!

The only issue I have is sometimes when the controller (normally my phone) moves from a wifi "zone" to a different repeater or powerline zone. i just then close the app and restart and it works.

My business partner has, he thinks it is good and the 'TruePlay' function is good in extreme rooms, but all of my Play:1 Rooms have only needed minor tweaks.

Will ping out a PH special price list to those that have messaged me tonight. There will be an improvement on the RRP.

Don't bother with play 3, go straight to the play 5.

The new one is much better than the mk1 btw

The true play only works with iOS devices right now, not android due to inconsistency of android hardware

I didn't think the 5s could act as rears for the 5.1 setup?
