Looking for a simple set up as I seem tk have to crank up the volume on TV to hear the words but the problem is I do that and background noise or sounds effect seems to be overpowering to the words/ speech

I've got one and I'm pretty pleased with it. Sits discreetly under the TV and the sound quality's far better than the TV speakers.

Thanks for the reply

Did you consider anything else?

Can the volume be changed via a sky remote or does it have to be changed via the supplied bose remote?

Are there buttons on the unit to change volume and power on?

Yes on the sky remote question.

Personally I wouldn't be paying £300 for the Bose, like most Bose stuff it seems expensive for what it is to and poor V.F.M. I've no doubt though that it will be better than the TVs sound.

I've recently hooked a Bose 5.1 media system to my iMac, with extra connection to Samsung TV. Three speaker system more than adequate for delighting me ...and depressing the neighbours.

I managed to source online through Amazon for £300, saving £65 over Currys/PC World.

Awesome sound....very very happy iTunes/Net Flix customer!

I had a play with a few soundbars in John Lewis and decided I'd prefer something that sits underneath the TV and didn't need a sub.

You can use the Sky remote, but you don't use the normal volume buttons. You select TV then use the four directional arrow keys to control it - up and down do the volume, left and right do mute and power (can't remember which is which).

You could set the bose volume to be controlled by the normal volume buttons on the Sky remote.

You're welcome. Being as you already have it programmed to control the Bose then setting the vol keys to work the amp is simply
"Press TV then hold down select and 1 together until the LED flashes twice"

To set it back do the same but using the 2 key.
