Roth soundbar issue

Looking for a little help here.
A while back I purchased a Roth Sub zero II soundbar for mother 2DDav. I set it up with her LG tv (dont have the exact model to hand but I am pretty certian that its the 32" 580V.
Now the problem, when I set the soundbar up it works perfectly find when using the freeview channels, however when using the smart tv (Netflix) all that comes out is a high pitched squeal, as soon as you change back over to freeview it goes back to normal again.
Anyone any ideas, or came across this before?
