Someone mentioned there was a LAN adapter for CC, might just be for the TV ones though?
The LAN adaptor works fine for the CC Audio as well as the Video one. I have two of mine connected this way where the Wifi reception is poor. If only the HomePlugs that I have them connected to were as reliable!I bought mine for £15 from Google, which is pretty reasonable even if it does double the price of each CCA!

The Youtube app can support both, it just doesn't. It's deliberate choice (not one I agree with) to keep things simple for the user at the expense of choice.

For example, Pocket Casts supports both CC and CCA and will just add a what's playing screen to the CC if you cast to that.
Are you suggesting I try installing Pocket Cast on my phone and that way I'll be able to cast to a CCA from Youtube?paulrockliffe said:

From my PC I can cast to my CCAs from YouTube. When I click the cast button, there is a drop-down list of all of my CCs and CCAs and I can cast to any of them, including the groups I have set up. Not sure why they can't do the same on the app.doodlebug said:

Been reading this thread with interest, given I've been hankering over Sonos for a while but continual building work has but it on hold.
I've currently got two ageing Bose Sounddocks and a portable Sounddock (camping trips and the like) but it's usually plugged in the bedroom.
As they're a bit archaic and don't support the lightning sockets, I tend to connect my phone via a cable whenever i'm in the appropriate room and just play Spotify. Although one Bose is connected to my Sky box by the same cable so I get some reasonable sound via the TV.
So...
Do I just require 3 of these Chromecast Audios for each Bose and I can essentially have music throughout the house via Spotify? As simple as that?
All for £45???

So long as they all have aux in or rca in. I've currently got two ageing Bose Sounddocks and a portable Sounddock (camping trips and the like) but it's usually plugged in the bedroom.

I never understood why Logitech got out of this market, the squeezebox range worked well and was reasonably priced. Ok not quite as slick as Sonos but a better proposition financially.
My BIL is a big fan of Squeezboxes so I tried one. The conclusion I reaches is that for me it an OK client for internet radio and that was about it. He also used his to stream huge amounts of music from a NAS drive and for that it made a lot moresense. Also, the one I had didn't have the remote with the screen so when changing channels I was forever peering at the little LED's on the box and trying to remember which menu or sub menu some obscure station might or might not be held under. And failing. As a result I stopped using it.I then spent a while using an iPad as a static client RCA'd into my amp, then found Bluetooth then found Chromecasts.
Logitech probably got out was they'd be squeezed out (pardon the pun) by either people like me casting music from a handset from an every-increasing selection of easy to use apps on one hand and people investing more heavily in Sonos on the other.
