New CD player, but can't really hear an improvement!

CD17's rarely seen to come up on eBay. If one appears and isn't crazy priced I might see if I can get it.

Wasn't a CD11 (or something) better still? Another really rated combo I think was the meridian 606/602, the 506-24 and I think the 508 was a higher end player.

It was the pricing of the Meridian 508 that caused Marantz UK to lop £200 from the price of the 17KI.

The CD11 is a 'higher' range but commentators at the time thought the 17KI a better player - any '11' will be some age now.

The top Marantz CD player was the rather marvellous CD7 - doubtful whether they'll ever produce anything like that ever again.

My ears are 15 years older so doubtful I'd here any difference between a 67 series and a 7 series
