How to use a remote with amp etc in a cupboard?
Discussion
This lot also do stuff - http://www.keene.co.uk/ - but I'd highly recommend you speak to PHer "VEX"
Can't see why they won't, and then I found this: http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/product/harmony-ulti... I feel some budget creep coming on.
I bought one of those "mouse" type IR repeaters a few years ago on eBay. Worked fine with Logitech and Pronto, as well as the remotes that came with the TV, amp, etc. Fair bit cheaper on eBay.
I recently bought a Harmony Smart Control, and it's excellent. Same functionality as the Ultimate, but comes with a "basic" remote, rather than the fancy one with the display. A bit of a bargain at around £90.
Only limitation is it can only do 6 activities, which may not be enough for some users.

That's what I'm eyeing up, particularly as it would get round the occasional sync failure of my current Harmony 650 if you don't keep it pointing the right way while it runs its macro.
Go for it! I've got a couple of Harmony 525s for the kitchen and bedroom, as well as the Smart Control for the lounge. The SC solves all the problems with the older Harmonys, and the setup software is a lot better. The ability to make config changes from a phone or tablet is a great idea.
