When we record something via the sky+ HD box and then play it back the audio will skip, as in no sound for a couple of seconds, then it's ok for a bit, then it does it again.
Is this a sign that the box is on its way out,or is there something I can try myself.

Ours does the same but only when recording HD channels. If you find a fix, let me know please.

Try a Planner rebuild. It's worked for me on a couple of issues, but I didn't have your problems specifically.

Finally got round to contacting Sky about this. They sent an engineer who confirmed it was a known fault with early HD boxes. Box was replaced for free and we got a new remote too as ours was so tatty.

Did you have an ins policy with them, how old was your box.

Very old box - one of the first HD ones, which the engineer said it does not like the latest software updates. We had no insurance but did phone to say we were changing to virgin so they repaired the box and knocked £30 a month off the subs.
