We have a Sky+ HD box in the main livingroom, with an old Sky+ box in the front room.

The front one has recently started playing up, not recording when scheduled and as of the last few days, not recording at all.

I have done a software upgrade, and a reboot, losing everything on the planner but still nothing.

We pay a small fortune for all the entertainment channels, films, sport, HD, multiroom, etc. so I am loathe to have to pay them for a replacement.

Anyone had any luck getting new hardware when out of warranty?

Is there an alternative way to get one of these boxes?

It's the Thomson white Sky+ box.

I am assuming as we have a dual feed in there already, we could possibly run a second Sky+ HD box in there instead?

I've had a couple of new boxes by phoning up and asking to cancel because the box doesn't work - it took a bit of arguing but got there in the end.

I switched from Sky to Virgin Media last month and my old white Sky+ box and remote are sitting here in need of a new home.

I'm in the West Midlands if you're local, or it's yours if you'll arrange a courier. Should only be a fiver or so.

Pants, that's a really nice offer mate but I think I am sorted again. Once final try with Sky, they did a viewing card reset and the box appears to be behaving itself just now.
